The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is a federation of seven sheikdoms on the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. It is a country of eastern Saudi Arabia, which later became a base for pirates and was known as the Pirate Coast into the 19th century. Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai, Fujairah, Ras al-Khaimah, Sharjah and Umm al-Quwain are seven sheikhdoms of the UAE federation. Abu Dhabi is the capital and also the center of political, industrial and cultural activities of the country. Population: 4.44 million. The indigenous people have very little, accounting for about 20%, Asia 40% and mostly Arabs. Most people in that state under Islamic beliefs (96%) and the rest are Christian or Hindu (4%). They use Hindi, Urdu and majority use Arabic, Farsi and English. This country is largely hot, dry desert but it is the 6th largest oil reserves of the world and possesses a most developed economies in the Middle East. Here there are many places to travel, it has beautiful beaches, the heritage, beautiful landscape of the Hatta mountains, riding camels in the desert sands of Abu Dhabi.

The largest of these by far is Abu Dhabi, while probably the most well known is Dubai.

  • Ajman - The smallest emirate, One of the budget destinations.
  • Al Ain - Inland and close to the Omani bordertown of Buraimi, Al Ain comprises a triangle between the proper cities of Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
  • Dubai - The most common entry point for travelers, it is the transport and commerce center of the UAE.
  • Fujairah
  • Hatta
  • Khor Fakkan
  • Sharjah - A cheaper destination, dusty and chaotic in places but with its own unique charm.
